   There are many varieties of Non-Sporting dog breeds, and many of them make wonderful companion dogs. The variety is endless. All dog breeds were originally bred for some type of job like hunting, herding, or guarding. Many of the Non-Sporting dog breeds were originally developed for a job that has now became antiquated, and some were bred as companions or specialty dogs for nobility. Today all the Non-sporting dogs are primarily used as companion dogs.
